Election 2

Election 2 is an extremely violent local movie that I have seen. However, it is necessary to add these violent components in this movie. It can reflect gangster¡¦s painful lives in triad society and show why the theme ¡§¥H©M¬°¶Q¡¨ is so important.

The most interesting theme of Election 2 is not violence, but irony of the relationship between Central Government and HKSAR. No matter how powerful, rich, patriotic you are, you are still under the control by the Central Government. Your power is not given by election, but it is from the Central Gov. It is exactly the real and unavoidable situation in Hong Kong politic environment. The 800 representative based election council is no different from those ¡§Old ghosts¡¨ (senior gangsters) in Election. Chief Executive¡¦s power is from Central, but not them. Therefore, every critical policies or decision should be approved by Central.

The most remarkable dialogue in Election 2 is when Ku elected by those ¡§old ghosts¡¨and became the big boss, his response was totally different from Yum in Election 1 who said passion speech to motivate brothers. He just warned those old ghosts he knew some of them disliked him and he would only do Big Boss for two years. It was so similar when Donald Tsang became the Chief Executive, traditional left wing disliked his appointment and attacked him in different ways. In the ending, an officer from Central Gov requested Ku to change the election method of choosing big boss. It is similar last year constitutional reform argument. The request of Central Gov. made Donald confuse to convince legislative council to pass the conservative constitutional reform.

Although I don¡¦t know whether To has Election 3, it should be a story of how Ku deal with the society reform. I hope Ku would not die if he failed to deal with this impossible tasks.

Project

Sunday is still a project day. I got up at 10:00am and planed to do the networking individual in is lab. However, the lab was full so that I did it in the cafe corner where was outside the lab. Although this project's content was boring, I was shocked by one groupmate's performance. Although most of us hadn't finish our part yet, we nearly finished at least half of it. But one of my groupmate hadn't show any effort about his tasks until this moment. Also, we couldn't find him and contact him in the last day of submission. It was depressing and worrying experience in group project.

After having meeting with other groupmates, we made decision that if the groupmate could not submit it at 7:00pm, we would omit his part in the report. We also left voice message and email to this groupmate so that we clearly made him know how serious the situation was. I thought it was the most fairest way for our group.
